Since the launch of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a wide array of heroes, and a gripping narrative including angels, demons, and sinister influences increasing in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the latest installment of the new season lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
The latest chapter concluded with a huge suspense moment and presented the first table of heroes who will split off from the central cast to begin their own adventure, distinct from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table includes Teor (played by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura), the fierce warrior (the cast member), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Given an extensive roster, it was clear from the beginning that keeping everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
That’s why, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Prelude, weaving together the personal journeys before splitting into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Planners, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who enjoy a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven story mode where diplomatic options are few and far between.
Upon first impression, figures such as the squeamish cleric the cleric might seem mismatched, but the actions of episode 3 show why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the party has a clear idea where to go next after a brutal initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose passing kicked off the campaign’s events—exploited the foes for his personal gain, entering the hidden lair, striking the character, and stealing all the powerful objects to sell off.
The antagonist then cleared his liabilities and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, beyond the city, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each member has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:
- The rogue, as the companion and best friend, seeks vengeance.
- The adventurer knows the region and warns that it is a hostile place.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to execute the target and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their position as key figures in the influential clan could enable the team reach places they usually can’t.
- Moreover, Teor pledged a life debt to The cleric for his rescue and will now go with him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are wanted by the authorities that rule Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are known criminals.
- Tyranny and The healer betrayed the influential house and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- Teor is wanted dead by the family.
This means them few options but to head to the remote area in search of the antagonist.
Upcoming Developments
Based on episode three’s Cooldown, we find out that the Soldiers table will not appear next week, leaving the rest of the cast members to round up the Questers and Planners tables.
Fans can anticipate learning which players will be assigned to which table in the story’s final introductory chapter, streaming live on October 24.
